IP camera streaming for websites and live platforms

Your IP camera, live on your website and everywhere you stream

OctoStream turns RTSP cameras, DVRs, and RTMP encoders like OBS into a live player you can embed anywhere — plus restreams to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, and more. Recording, timelapse, scheduling, and password protection are built in.

How it works

Live on your website in three steps

  1. 1

    Connect your camera

Paste your camera's RTSP URL, or point OBS and hardware encoders at your RTMP publish URL. Works with IP cameras, DVRs, and NVRs — no new hardware.

  2. 2

    We make it browser-ready

Managed servers convert your feed to HLS that plays on iPhone, Android, and desktop browsers — no apps or plugins for your viewers.

  3. 3

    Publish it everywhere

Embed the player on your website, share a watch link, and restream to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, or any custom RTMP destination at the same time.

Real-world use cases

Show a live camera feed where it helps people decide, trust, or check in

Teams like resorts, churches, construction crews, and property owners all need the same thing: a live camera feed that is easy to publish and easy for viewers to open. These are just a few everyday examples — if your camera has a feed, OctoStream can stream it.

Construction & job sites

Keep owners and stakeholders updated with a live jobsite view they can open in a browser.

What you get

The features that do the real work

Not just a live player — scheduling, recording, protection, and publishing tools included with every stream.

Scheduling

On air when you want, off air when you don't

Set weekly on-air windows and one-off date overrides in your own timezone. Outside those hours, viewers see a friendly “back on air at…” screen instead of a dead player.

Recording & playback

Plus and up

Every stream saved, organized by day

Flip one toggle and OctoStream records everything your camera streams. Play back any day right from your dashboard.

Domain-locked embeds

Your stream only plays on your site

Add your domains to the allow-list — wildcards included. Anyone who lifts your embed code sees a blocked message instead of your feed.

Restreaming

Go live everywhere at once

Send one camera or OBS feed to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, X, and any custom RTMP destination at the same time.

Password protection

Only the right viewers get in

Set a password on a stream and the player asks for it before playing. Great for client-only jobsite cams and private events.

Timelapse

Weeks of progress in seconds

OctoStream captures periodic snapshots of your stream and turns them into timelapse — perfect for construction and renovation storytelling.

Branded player

Your logo on the player, your name on the page

Upload your logo once and it appears on the player across live pages and embeds, with a clean shareable watch page for every stream.

Pricing

Simple pricing for IP camera streaming

Choose a plan based on how many live streams you run and how much viewing bandwidth you need for website playback, watch links, RTSP to HLS delivery, and re-streaming.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about IP camera compatibility, browser playback, HLS streaming, or RTSP re-streaming? Send a note to support@octostream.com.

What does OctoStream do?
OctoStream helps you turn an RTSP camera feed into an HLS stream for your website, or restream that same video to live platforms.
Can I stream RTSP to a browser?
Yes. OctoStream converts RTSP into HLS so viewers can watch on iPhone, Android, and desktop browsers without a separate RTSP app.
Can I embed a live camera feed on my website?
Yes. Create a stream in the dashboard, then copy the embed code into your website builder, CMS, or custom HTML page.
Can I re-stream an RTSP feed to YouTube or other platforms?
Yes. OctoStream can take one RTSP source and publish it out to destinations such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Instagram, and similar live platforms.
Can I share a streaming link on WhatsApp or social media?
Yes. Share the watch link and viewers can open the stream immediately on mobile or desktop.
Do viewers need an app or plugin?
No. Viewers watch in a normal browser on iPhone, Android, and desktop.
What cameras are supported?
Most IP cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and encoders should work. If your device has a reachable RTSP stream URL, it should fit the OctoStream workflow.
Is my stream public?
Streams are accessed using a stream key. Treat it like a private link and share it only with the viewers or destinations you intend to authorize.
Can I schedule when my stream is available?
Yes. Set weekly on-air windows and one-off date overrides in your timezone. Outside those hours, viewers see an off-air screen with the next available time instead of a dead player.
Can I stop other websites from embedding my stream?
Yes. Add your domains to a stream's allow-list — wildcards like *.yourdomain.com are supported — and the embed only plays on those sites.
Can I record my streams and watch them later?
Yes. On the Plus plan and up, flip the recording toggle on a stream and play back any day's footage from your dashboard.
Can I password-protect a stream?
Yes. Set a password on a stream and the player asks for it before playing — useful for client-only jobsite cams and private events.
Can I monitor bandwidth usage and concurrent viewers?
Yes. The dashboard shows usage metrics so you can track transfer and pick the right plan.
